Eric and I have been married for almost 18 years. We have two children: Claire our daughter is 12 years old and Jacob our son is 9 years old. We have served in church youth ministry either on a volunteer basis or as a vocation since 1994 and have a real passion to disciple people (of all ages) into a deeper, authentic and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ! We also desire to model and be a part of true community with the people in our lives. This means living lives that are transparent and honest; being accountable to one another and allowing others to call us out on our junk! This starts at home, in our marriage partnership and with our kids!
Over the past couple of years, God has been speaking to us in very real and amazing ways! Nothing quite as tangible as a burning bush or a cloudy pillar but very real to us! In our efforts to be faithful to what He has been showing our family we have made some BIG changes in our lives! We sold our house in less than six months in a very, very poor real estate market. We made the choice to homeschool our children in order to grow stronger and more unified in the Lord as a family and to fortify the spiritual foundation in our home. Eric has decided to step away from his career and calling as youth pastor.
In October 2010 we will be leaving Michigan which has been home to Eric his whole life and our home together our entire married life. The four of us will be heading to Mijas, Spain to attend the G42 Leaderhip Academy.
The purpose of the academy is to "ignite passion - unleash freedom - go to the nations!"
Only the Lord knows the plans and adventures and work He has for us beyond our time in Spain. We know He is trustworthy, we believe He is calling us to this place, at this time, for His purpose and we are choosing to cooperate with His promptings! Won't you join us on the journey...
***Update August 2010****
Please be sure to read more recent blog posts to catch up on our familiy and our journey! We are learning to hold on to OUR plans loosely, and be obedient to where the Lord is leading! This is challenging, exciting, scary (sometimes), but never, ever boring!
